Lightest Double Stroller
When looking for a lightweight double pushchair from birth-stroller, its folded size and weight are important aspects to take into consideration. Choosing one that’s easy to handle and compact when not when not in use makes it much easier to place in the trunk of your car, and to maneuver through airport gates and streets.
The best lightweight strollers feature an easy, light fold and self-standing mechanism to lessen the burden on parents’ bodies. A few also come with a broad range of seating configurations and can accommodate infant car seat carriers.
Kolcraft Cloud Plus
Designed for the family on the go. Lightweight, with a simple one-hand compact fold. The all-terrain wheels and front suspension, as well as the multi-position reclining seat, can be used for children up 50 pounds. The tray for parents and kids as well as a large storage bin and 3-tiered extended canopy with the peekaboo window offer maximum sun protection.
The Cloud scored one of the lowest scores in our tests of quality because it has a thin seat made of hard plastic and a design which is dated. It’s also expensive compared to other strollers that are lighter which is why it’s not the best option in the event you’re looking for a low-cost alternative.
While it’s not the most light double stroller, it comes with enough features that are worth a look. The swiveling front wheels make it easy to move on flat surfaces, and it can leap over curbs with ease unlike other light strollers that drift off course when trying to do the similar thing. The Cloud’s low, nearly knee-high handle has a disadvantage. It’s not adjustable, and it’s not adjustable. It’s uncomfortable to push it with your legs suspended in the air and it’s not helping that it’s not cushioned.
In our tests, we discovered that the Cloud was easy to set up and opened. It’s a bit more complicated to close the cloud, however. You must slide a slider and then push a large white button to get it to collapse. This can be a hassle especially if you’re trying to manage children while doing it.
The Cloud comes with a small but deep storage basket that will fit a medium diaper bag. The basket is a bit small and you might have to leave something in there to reach the back. The Cloud has a child and parent tray with two cup holders each however, they’re both too narrow to accommodate larger bottles or cups.
The Kolcraft brand has been around since 1946 and is a third generation, family-owned company. They started by making diapers and crib pads and now they produce several baby products, including highchairs as well as infant car seats. The company is based in Chicago and is an American manufacturer.
Jeep Destination Ultralight SBS
Jeep Destination Ultralight is a lightweight double stroller with a minimalist style that’s perfect for traveling. It weighs only 18lbs and is lighter than many single strollers. It folds flat, making it easy to carry and store. It also has independently reclined seats and large all-weather SPF50 sun visors with large windows with peekaboos and under seat storage bags. The visors are adjustable to accommodate children of different heights. It also comes with a one-step linked parking brake, and is Disney-size approved.
The swivel wheel of the Jeep is also great for navigating over bumps and uneven terrain. This stroller doesn’t accept car seats. Your child must be at minimum six months old and have a good neck control to ride on the front seat. It does have three panels of a nice sun canopy, though each seat comes with its own snack tray as well as cup holders for parents.
Another extremely light side-by-side stroller is the Valco Baby Snap Trend. It’s a bit heavier than the Kolcraft Cloud Plus at 23 pounds, but it’s slim and narrow (26.5 inches wide!) It has a lot of elegant features that make it perfect for travel. It folds easily and very easy to move around. It also can easily fit into the overhead compartments and trunks of airplanes.
The Joovy Kooper X2 tri-folds and is ultralight, similar to the Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+ stokke double stroller or Mountain Buggy Nano Duo. It’s pretty similar to the Jeep Destination Ultralight SBS, however, it does have some distinct differences. It’s more expensive, but it offers a more shady sun canopy and better maneuverability. It also has a convenient carry strap and can accommodate children up to 44 pounds per seat.
Summer 3D Pac CS+ for infants
If you’re looking for a stroller that’s lightweight but also loaded with features you’ll find it in the Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+. It’s not just lightweight at just 13 lbs but also has plenty of storage, including cup holders for the parent and child, a child’s sippy-cup pouch, a parent’s storage pocket and so on. This stroller can also be used with a child’s seat and has a brake that flips that is easy to engage. This stroller is designed to expand with your child. It can be converted from a baby stroller to an adult stroller by attaching car seat adapters (sold separately) and it’s suitable for children ages six months and over.
Another thing to take note of about this stroller is that it runs on swivel wheels and doesn’t come with locking options therefore it may not be the best option for terrain that is rocky or hilly. It’s still a great option for families with children, since it is able to be easily maneuvered on paved surfaces and other smooth surfaces.
This is among the most compact and lightweight double strollers, with all-size features. It folds with one hand and stored in the trunk or garage. It can also be used as a stroller for travel and is compatible with a variety of car seats without the need for adapters.
Contrary to the majority of lightweight strollers like the Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+ features two seats that can carry up to 50 pounds per seat (100 lb total). The seats each have a multi-position recline, individual leg rests, and 3-panel canopies with flip-out sun visors and windows that peek out.
The seats are cushioned to ensure your child’s safety. They also have a 5-point safety harness that can be adjusted in three different height positions. Each comes with an infant cushion, which is perfect for babies. Parents will appreciate the cup holders for parents and children, along with the child’s cup holders, the cell phone holder, and a large storage basket. The stroller is also available with the Yoyo+ Board which transforms it into a tandem.
Joovy X2 Kooper
The Kooper X2 is an excellent choice for parents seeking a lightweight double stroller with infant car seat stroller that can accommodate two children. The sling-style seats are comfortable and offer a similar amount of headroom. It also allows kids to sit side-by-side. In contrast to other strollers that are side-by-side this one Kooper X2 offers a fully reclined seat that is ideal for napping. The recline feature is simple to use, however it doesn’t really go flat. Children who are taller may have legs hanging out when in the reclined position. It also comes with a large canopy, which we found to be more effective at blocking out the sun than other strollers in our top double strollers review.
The stroller is light enough to navigate through door frames, which was a big issue for us with other strollers we tested. It folds easily and its handlebars sit close to the ground, making it easy carrying. The only drawback is its small storage space, which can feel cramped when full of things for kids.
Joovy is a family-owned company that creates original functional, high-quality and durable baby products. Their range of products includes innovative baby bottles, such as the Joovy Zoom X2 Double stroller with 5-point harness stroller and a unique raincover that fits many popular strollers. The company’s products are affordable priced and often have fun designs that draw children.
In our tests in the lab, we look at multiple aspects to determine the user-friendliness of a double pushchairs stroller. This includes the ease with which it is possible to fold and set up, how to adjust the safety harness and how to open and close the brakes. We also carry and lift the strollers in a similar manner as if they were put into a trunk, and how to set up and remove a car seat if needed. We also evaluated the strength and durability, as well as whether the strollers have a tray for parents that can be used by both children.
The Joovy Kooper X2 received the highest score in our Strollers Test Program for its user-friendliness. It also received the top rating in our latest guide to the best double strollers. Its user-friendly design comes with one hand, with zero tilt recline and an enormous canopy with ventilation mesh that is visible even when it is tilted. There are also individual kid trays, built-in cupholders and pockets with zippers for parents, and an enormous storage basket.
