Biography

I am a graduate of Bethune Cookman University where I majored in Sociology and minor in Psychology. My employment career was in criminology, social services, counseling and mentoring. I retired as a Probation Officer.  I have also worked as an Employment Coordinator for individuals with disabilities, mentored youth from the ages of 12 to 17 and was a Program Director for a Recidivism program for ex-offenders.  I believe my calling in life is to interact with people and develop meaningful relationships that are beneficial and purposeful.

Mission Statement

The concept behind creating Assagai Merchandise was born from the desire to tell the impactful story of those long forgotten or even unknown African Americans who made seminal contributions to American culture.  In areas of education, science, technology, mathematics, engineering, business, the Arts, medicine and politics.  These contributions have shaped the everyday landscape for humankind. 

Assagai Merchandise endeavors to create enlightenment that will enable all people to understand, appreciate and embrace the very fabric of these remarkable contributors.

Ultimately, anyone will find these stories compelling as they recount the unique contributions of HBC alumni and individuals of African decent have made to humankind.
