The Best Double Buggy Strollers
If you’re expecting twins or two children of different ages then a double buggy can help you get out and about. The best ones are easy to manoeuvre and handle rough surfaces and kerbs.
These vehicles also come with features like large sun canopies and see-through hoods, as well adjustable seats.
1. Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Double
The City Tour 2 Double stroller is the smallest in the Baby Jogger range. It is designed for travel, and can fit through doors that are standard with its ultra-narrow shape. It’s also among the lightest double buggies available that weighs just 14lbs when folded. This makes it ideal to travel with a toddler and newborn as you won’t be exceeding the luggage allowances of airlines. It can also be folded up to the size of a small travel bag, which means you can put it in the back seat of your car.
It’s simple to fold the Z-shape with one hand. Once you’ve gotten used to it, it’s small and takes only a few minutes. Our tester found the auto-lock a bit confusing, and since the handlebar does not lock into the position you push it into, it hit her leg when she used it. She also thought the handlebar was on the shorter side. This is especially the case when a large bag for changing hangs from it.
The double pushchairs stroller isn’t as light as other buggies. It’s got a broad range of features, and is one the most versatile double strollers on the market. It’s compatible with two carry cots (available separately) It also features multiple recline positions as well as a UV 50+ canopy. You can also add a bassinet on either or both seats to create an all-in-one travel system.
The four tires made of rubber are great for pavements as well as urban terrain. However, they were not designed for off-roading. They struggled with gravel and long grass and there was not enough clearance between the wheel bracket and the wheel, so mud stuck easily. Our tester loved this buggy and was able to climb some pretty dirt hills.

The iCandy Orange double buggy is the most stylish, versatile and quality. It is a must-have item for parents who want a stylish high-end double buggy that will last. They’re also adjustable so they can be positioned to suit siblings’ needs. iCandy is the first to introduce a ‘cinema seating’ design that allows parents to maintain eye contact with their children. They can be adjusted to face either the parent or the world.
It’s a heavier tandem buggy, but it’s incredibly easy to operate and steer, especially on smooth pavements. It’s stable in single and double mode, and even on sloped terrain. It’s not as easy to drive on public transportation, however, since it requires more than one hand to grip the handlebar. It’s also large and can’t be stuffed into a standard car boot with the seat attached, but this can be overcome by careful planning. iCandy has included a footmuff, changing bag and car seat adapters in the price so this is an excellent value package for new parents.

Our testers discovered that the Nipper double buggy with car seat is incredibly easy to navigate, even on rough terrain or when turning on the middle of a busy road. They were also impressed by the fact that both seats recline independently, meaning they can be adjusted to suit the individual’s needs. This is ideal for napping.
They also loved that the hoods could be moved forward and back making them easy to adjust in the sun or for wind protection. They didn’t offer as much coverage as the Baby Jogger City Mini Hoods. It’s probably worth packing an additional rain cover in the case.
Overall, our test participants were impressed with the Nipper double’s capacity to allow them to take their twin daughters Sydney and Lyla to all kinds of adventures. From seeing wildlife in the forest or rushing to a park to play with their friends They loved it. Our testers were also amazed by how comfortable and spacious the two seats are. There is plenty of room for toddlers who are growing. The lack of parent facing seating and the inability to use a car seat in this buggy were cited as a disadvantage by our test participants. They would have preferred a larger storage area for shopping and other gear.
