Over time the handles on your doors will get worn out and need to be changed. It is important to keep the same dimensions as the handles that were previously used when replacing a window handle them.

Inline Lever/Lever

A lever/lever door handle is a contemporary handle that can be installed on replacement or new doors. This type door handle is offered in a wide range of styles & finishes. A number of manufacturers offer this type of handle, including Avocet ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.

The door handles made of uPVC/Composite are made of robust materials and are perfect for doors with multi-point locks that require a strong design. The handles are inline and use the same spindle and screws to secure them. They can be easily mounted on a new or existing uPVC/Composite door.

The spring lever design allows the handle to be positioned and angled for comfortable operation and is suitable for all users. The handle has been endurance-tested to 200 000 cycles. This helps ensure that the finish is of high quality and performance will last for a long time. The lever that is sprung can be reduced to accommodate more locks. This is useful for narrower doors where the cylinder is further back from the door. A shorter lever can be used on doors that have a latch which can be operated with the thumb on the inside.

Lever Pad

The lever pad upvc handle differs from the lever handles that are used on the majority of doors. These handles are operated by a single spindle or by two spindles, inline or offset. They are typically employed on UPVC doors with double glazing. They come in a range of finishes and variations.

The handles for internal bifold doors have been tested to a minimum of 200,000 cycles and are available in a variety of finishes including White and Silver, as well as Chrome & Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and resistant to corrosion. This gives the handle an outstanding performance and long-lasting durability for its intended use.

All UPVC lever pads for handles include a spindle and screws and can be mounted on the uPVC door. Once you have the correct PZ size you will then be required to make sure that the lever pads and push pads are of a suitable shape for the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) approved handles you require for your doors. These are typically of a round or square design with an internal lever as well as an external push pad.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks can be found on uPVC and other kinds of doors. They work by using a key that unlock a cylinder that is then revealed with pins that can be aligned with those in the lock body and allowing them to turn the cam, thereby opening the door. Euro cylinders are available with up to six pins. Doors that are internal and external require different levels of security.

The choice of the correct cylinder is vitally important; this is dependent on how your door and handle are used. External doors, for example should be equipped with cylinders with greater security, whereas internal doors can be secured using an ordinary cylinder. Certain cylinders are equipped with additional features that increase security, for instance, anti-drill or anti bump properties.

To ensure that the euro cylinder is of the right size for your door, it must be measured correctly. The cylinder should be measured from the hole in the center of the fixing screw to the other end of the cylinder and the thumb turn if you have one. If you cannot measure using the lock in its position, you can remove it. It is important to avoid having a cylindrical lock that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This could make it vulnerable to lock snapping attacks.

Most modern cylinders are made with anti-drill and bump resistance features built into their design. They are designed to decrease the risk of attack by forcing the cylinder to rotate in a different direction. This can to deflect attacks and keep your door safe.

There are also cylinders that are constructed to resist snapping. This is a growing kind of attack on cylinders, where the break line in the lock is smashed with a special tool to break off the front of the cylinder to allow the door to be opened. This is faster and more straightforward than gaining access through multipoint locks. It also leaves little evidence of a break-in which could hinder the insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

This spring cassette sits inside the base of your door handle’s backplate, providing a spring solution to return the multipoint lock handles back to their normal position after usage. The handles had no spring, and would slide when the locking mechanism was disengaged. This simple part is the best way to fix this problem. It also stops your door from getting stuck in the closed or open position as they are difficult to close manually.

These spring cassettes were designed to be used with a spring multipoint locks. They are not compatible with unsprung handles and you’ll need to cut a hole in your backplate in order for them to fit.
