French Door Refrigerator With Ice Maker Review

Melding form with function, french door fridge with plumbed Ice and water-door refrigerators come with stylish double doors that open up to an enormous fridge on top and freezer drawer below. These refrigerators stand out because of their distinctive features, such as through-the-door dispensers as well as higher-end Ice makers.

We asked experts like Ladina Schopf, an interior designer and architect, as well as the founder of LS Projects, for tips on how to select the best one. We looked at the storage capacity, layout, and energy efficiency among other aspects.

GE Profile Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

As its name suggests, the GE Profile series is aimed at people who want to integrate cutting-edge features in their kitchens. This refrigerator has it all from a Keurig K cup coffee maker inside the door, to a clever dispenser of water. But these flourishes don’t mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator’s freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. This refrigerator is costly, so I expected better.

Apart from that minor flaw, this fridge is a great choice. It has a huge freezer compartment, which is unusual for counter-depth french door refrigerator with ice maker in bottom freezer-door refrigerators. It also holds a lot of frozen food, which is a big difference from other models.

The fridge comes with 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment is 18.5 cubic feet, which is standard for a French-door fridge at this price. It has a decent sized icemaker in the left door. However it’s not the biggest one I’ve seen.

You can alter the shelving in both compartments to create custom storage setup for what is the smallest size french door refrigerator you want to store. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS is attractive, too. The LED lighting is a nice addition, and the in-door storage bins have an additional shelf that can fold down to make it possible to store large items. The drawers have temperature controls that let you set them to Meat, Beverage or Deli settings. They’re easy to open and close, however I found their textured plastic coatings a bit hard on the fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator includes all the features you’d expect from a refrigerator within this price range. It has Wi-Fi as well as app support, and GE’s SmartHQ Software. The app is available for iOS and Android devices and allows you to control your refrigerator from anywhere across the globe. It also offers numerous options for customizing. It also sends you notifications when the door is unlocked and when the freezer or fridge requires defrosting, and when the filter requires a change.

It would be nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS came with Precise Fill, an option available in a handful of other GE fridges that allows you to choose how many cups of water you’d like to pour out simultaneously. It also has a countdown on the fridge display to show how much water you have remaining, but that’s not as useful as Precise Fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

It is designed to look like a seamless piece of your kitchen Bosch’s French-door refrigerator looks seamless and is an eye-catching piece. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also has a veggie compartment that keeps fruits and vegetables fresher for longer, and two compressors to preserve food. The ice maker we tested was one of the most efficient and produces the shape of a pyramid using only water. This refrigerator is ideal for a single household or kitchenette that needs an elegant design and top of the best food preservation.

This fridge was rated the most efficient in our Refrigerators Test for several reasons. The freezer temperature remained steady at just above 0°F and never changed by more than a fraction, this is essential to avoid freezer burn. The refrigerator section of the refrigerator also performed well. It reached the temperature it was set within an hour and remained at that temperature throughout our testing.

Bosch is known for its high-end appliances. Therefore, it’s not a surprise that Bosch counter depth refrigerator is one of them. Bosch counter depth refrigerator can be connected to your home Wi Fi and Bosch’s platform Home Connect. The app lets you monitor and control your fridge from your smartphone or tablet. The refrigerator is pricey and has great features and functions at a reasonable price.

While the fridge is an incredible piece of equipment, it’s important to know the limitations. It has a limited shelf space, which means you may need to be creative when storing tall items. Also the shelves aren’t sprillproof and can be easily damaged or stained by sharp objects. The trays can be easily removed from the fridge. However, they should be cleaned regularly to prevent the growth of mold.

LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The LG LRFLC2706S is a top counter-depth refrigerator that packs plenty of storage in an extremely compact frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge features a standard French door design, with two rows of shelves that can be used to capture spills and a set of crisper drawers. The top shelf on the right side can be folded in order to create more space for taller items. There’s also a full-width deli drawer and an internal water dispenser.

One of the best aspects of this refrigerator is that its ice maker is inside the freezer, which makes it easy to transfer frozen ice to the fridge to be used when it is required. The freezer features thoughtful design elements, as well, such as sliding drawers that help better organize the placement of your items. It has a large bin to store frozen food items, and a separate one for ice.

Another cool feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. You can control the temperature, lighting and more of your fridge from your smartphone. It’s a good way to monitor and manage your refrigerator, especially if you’re away from home.

However, while the Smart InstaView is a neat feature, it doesn’t improve the overall performance of the refrigerator. In fact it took longer to defrost and chill food in this fridge than some of the others we tested. This is likely due to the larger capacity.

The doors pose a problem with this fridge. They have sunken handles on the front that allow shorter people to easily pull them open from the bottom, however they’re difficult for taller people to pull shut without slamming them. It would have been better if they had handles mounted on the front.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is a great choice for those looking to combine the look and feel of a French-door refrigerator with a more efficient design. Its capacity is above average for a counter-depth model and it cools evenly and has a good layout. It’s also a little less than the most expensive counter depth refrigerator that comes with an ice maker, making it a desirable option.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

If you’re looking for a French door refrigerator that won’t cost a fortune and isn’t expensive, this Frigidaire is a good choice. It’s a basic fridge which may not be as appealing like some of its competitors however it has enough features to make a suitable choice. Its most important feature is the temperature adjustable drawer, which helps keep foods like veggies and meat fresher for longer. It also comes with a huge water dispenser and a decent Ice machine that is fast.

Another nice feature is the “Chill Drawer” that sits over the two crisper bins. This drawer lets you divert part of the refrigerator’s cooling power directly to this area, meaning you can store foods that require extra attention. You can alter this feature by using the slider located on the outside of the drawer. You can also set the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I’ve noticed that the general settings are more effective than the specific ones.

During my tests, the temperature of the refrigerator were fairly consistent across all areas of the refrigerator. The temperatures in the top, bottom and middle of the fridge didn’t differ significantly from 38 degrees. This is a pretty good performance, but it doesn’t quite make it into the top ten in our rankings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also connect this fridge to a smart thermometer to get more precise measurements of your fridge’s internal temperature.

The exterior of the Frigidaire is made from gray-bodied stainless with a “smudge proof” finish. It blocks streaks and fingerprints better than other stainless steel finishes I’ve seen.
