GE Profile Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
Like the name suggests, GE’s Profile series is targeted at consumers who want to incorporate cutting-edge features into their kitchen. This fridge is loaded with these, from an inside-the-door Keurig K-cup coffee maker to a sophisticated water dispenser. But these flourishes don’t mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator’s freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. The refrigerator is expensive and I expected more.
Other than that, this fridge is a great option. It has a huge freezer compartment, which is unusual for counter-depth French-door fridges. It also has a large capacity for frozen food compared to other models.
The fridge has 17 shelves and compartments. The refrigerator compartment is 18.5 cubic feet, which is typical for a fridge with a French door at this price. It also has a decent sized ice maker packed into the left-hand door, although it’s not the biggest I’ve seen.
You can alter the shelves in both compartments to make the perfect storage solution. The GE PYE22PYNFS’s interior design is attractive, too. The LED lighting is a nice addition and the inside storage bins feature an additional shelf that can fold down to make it possible to store items that are tall. The drawers come with temperature controls that let you set them to Meat, Beverage, or Deli settings. They’re easy to open and close, although I found their textured plastic coatings to be a little rough on the fingers.
The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator includes all the features you would expect from a refrigerator in this price range. This includes Wi-Fi as well as app support and GE’s SmartHQ Software. The app, which is available for iOS and Android devices allows you to control your refrigerator from anywhere in the world, and offers many options for customizing. It also sends you notifications when doors are left open, when the refrigerator or freezer needs to be defrosted and when it’s time to change the filter.
It would be nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS came with Precise Fill, an option available in a handful of other GE refrigerators that allows you to preset how many cups of water you’d like to disperse at a time. The fridge shows a countdown to show you how much water is left but it’s not as useful as Precise fill.
Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
The Bosch French-door Refrigerator is a stunning piece of equipment. It’s designed to look like it’s a seamless part in your kitchen. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also features a veggie compartment that keeps vegetables and fruits fresher for longer periods, and dual compressors to preserve food. The ice maker is one of the top we’ve tested, and it produces a pyramid-shaped form of ice that is low in use of water. This refrigerator is ideal for a single household or kitchenette that needs an elegant design and top of the highest quality food preservation.
The fridge was rated the best refrigerator in our Refrigerators test for several reasons. The freezer temperatures remained steady at just above 0 degrees Fahrenheit and never fluctuating more than a fraction of an inch. This is essential in preventing freezer burn. The refrigerator section of the fridge also performed well. It reached the temperature it was set within an hour and maintained the temperature throughout our testing.
Bosch is known for its high-end appliances. Therefore, it’s not a surprise that Bosch counter depth refrigerator is one of them. Bosch counter depth fridge can be connected to your home Wi Fi and Bosch’s Home Connect. The app lets you monitor and control your refrigerator remotely on your tablet or smartphone. While the fridge is a fantastic appliance however, it is important to understand the limitations. It has a small shelf space, which means you may have to think creatively when storing tall items. Additionally the shelves aren’t sprillproof and can be easily stained or damaged by sharp objects. LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
The LG LRFLC2706S counter-depth fridge is a great choice for those who need plenty of space in a small frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. Inside, the refrigerator has a standard french door retro fridge-door layout with gallon-sized bins for the doors on each door as well as two rows of shelves for spill-capture and a set of more spacious drawers. The upper right shelf can be folded down to give tall items more space. There’s also a full-width drawer for deli and an inside water dispenser.
The refrigerator comes with an ice maker making it easy to transfer the frozen ice as needed. The freezer also has innovative design features like sliding drawers that help you sort your things. It also comes with a large bin that can accommodate plenty of frozen food items as well as an storage bin for ice.
Smart InstaView panel is a cool feature of the refrigerator. You can manage the temperature, lighting and more of your fridge from your smartphone. It’s a nice way to control and monitor your refrigerator, particularly if you’re away from home.
The Smart InstaView feature is neat, but it doesn’t necessarily enhance the efficiency of the fridge. This fridge took longer to chill food and defrost it than other models we test. This could be due to its larger capacity.
The other issue we have with the doors of this refrigerator. The sunken handles let shorter people open them from the bottom. However taller people have a hard time closing them without slamming. It would have been much better if they came with a front-mounted handles.
The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is a great choice for those looking to combine the look of a french door fridge Under $1000 door refrigerator with more efficient design. Its capacity is higher than average for a counter-depth model, and it cools evenly and has a great layout. It’s also a bit less than the top counter-depth refrigerator that has an ice maker, which can make it an attractive option.
Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
If you’re looking for an French door fridge that doesn’t break the bank this Frigidaire is a solid option. It’s a basic refrigerator that may not be as eye-catching as some of its competitors however, it does have enough features to make it a good option. Its main feature is the temperature adjustable drawer, which helps keep foods like veggies and meat fresher for longer. It also has a large ice maker as well as a water dispenser.
The “Chill Drawer”, which sits above the two crisper bins, is a nice feature. This drawer lets you use the majority of the refrigerator’s cooling power into this area, so that you can keep food items that require extra attention. This feature can be adjusted by using an outside slider that is located inside the drawer. You can also use this to set a general cooling level for the entire fridge, though I’ve found that adjusting the general settings tends to produce better results than specific ones.
In my tests, the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly constant across the different areas of the refrigerator. The temperatures in the top, bottom and middle of the refrigerator didn’t vary significantly from 38 degrees. This is a pretty good performance, but it doesn’t quite be among the top in our ratings.
This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also connect this fridge to an intelligent thermometer to get more precise readings of your fridge’s temperature.
The exterior of the Frigidaire is made from gray-bodied stainless with a “smudge resistant” finish. It blocks streaks and fingerprints better than other stainless steel finishes I’ve seen.
