Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to upgrade their weapons and equipment with new affixes, increasing its stats base or providing additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player needs to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.

Items with weak bases, such as rings, can be upgraded into stronger bases. Items with strong bases, such as the Titans of eth have little change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute benefit, or extra effect, while the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, found as loot by enemies, or received from missions and chests. Some upgrades have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be above a certain point before they can be upgraded.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon, armor or other item in the game, players will have to select it and then click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade stats and the required component or materials.

There are three kinds that are universal upgrades (which include gems) Prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which comprise gems, are able to be used in any kind of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are jewels that are only available in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They offer the same benefits as jewels, but cannot be used with any other equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, add their name to the end of the name of the item they are connected to, for example adding a Glyph to a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will transform it into a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades to gather tools when a player swaps one glyph with another, the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, except for inscribed glyphs that can be swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile’s upgrade system is different from previous versions in several fundamental ways. Gear is now classified into tracks, and each item upgrades can only be upgraded as many times before it is “leveled out.” The upgrade cost increases with each level up however the materials required aren’t as high. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a few items and maximize the effect of those items rather than dispersing upgrade costs across multiple pieces.

If an item is finished being leveled, it will be capable of receiving a new set of upgrade components, and an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as the Artisan’s Energy. It resets to 0 if an upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

After a piece has been upgraded to its maximum level, it can receive an affix to increase its capabilities. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the item’s type. For example an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will have only two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade will require an amount of Flightstones and crests based on the Best item upgrade‘s current level and the item slot it’s in. Weapons typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item doesn’t reach its maximum level, the NPC grants the player the option to transfer it to a different character and re-infuse the item with a new set or upgrades. The process can take as long as two hours and costs the same amount of materials however it will result in lower chances of success.

Engineers employ a level to compare the height of the building against an established point, like the benchmark. This method is known as a “level-loop.” This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method makes sure that buildings are constructed to a high level of safety and accuracy.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial part of the game that can boost the strength, damage or other attributes. This can be done via the item menu or pressing the Reroll button of an upgraded item. Rerolling items can be expensive and should be handled with care.

The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, which can be used to acquire reroll tokens. These tokens can then be used to upgrade the original item or another item of the same type. Recyclable items have an indicator that indicates the level of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled is contingent on the rarity and upgrade cost of the item upgrade.

In the past, some upgrade items were affixed with priority that made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you would receive the stats that mattered most to your build more often than other. This included stats such as the armor’s total armour, thorns and the control impaired duration stats or the weapon’s bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.

This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for each stat. This could be a positive or a negative thing depending on your requirements and expectations from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can be equipped with a special bonus that boosts the item’s power by a fixed percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are rolled over the standard affixes. The more you improve an item, the higher chances of obtaining the bonus of your choice.

The game also comes with number sets that give the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are installed on an unit. This is a great method to add lots of power to a specific character without spending lots of money.

Many players choose to reroll their gear and weapons, particularly in the early stages of the game. Rerolling is a way to create a more powerful character faster, which allows players to advance in the game and attain higher tiers.

Sets

Sets are collections of elements that can be organized in a variety of ways. They can be different sizes, contain none of the elements, or contain a single element. They can be used for organizing data or sorting information. They also aid in studying patterns. Sets can be categorized in several ways, including by size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides an extensive selection of upgradeable set items. Some items are worth upgrading and others aren’t. Sets of armor that offer high defense or set bonuses are usually worth upgrading. Weapon upgrades are not as effective in improving stats as their counterparts in purple. This makes them less attractive to upgrade in the event that your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already extensive.

Some set items are upgraded to meet their unique procs which can be beneficial in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur’s Advance Boots and Guillaume’s Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement were increased as well).

Upgrades are also possible to bring certain items up to the level of the levels. The Immortal King Set, for example, has a wide range of levels, from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower-level items of the set can boost their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

To determine if an item is worth upgrading, players can click the Upgrade button on their screen for their character. This will display the item’s attributes, along with the necessary items required to upgrade it. For example the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials as well as 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternately, players can visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the upgrade requirements of specific items.

In general, armor and weapons have higher value when they are updated. Particularly, for weapons that feature damage glyphs for spells or weapons and are upgraded to gold is recommended because it will give a substantial improvement in their stats. This will also boost the defense value of armor that has a newer appearance.
