It also stands on its own when folded. The padded seat reclines into an almost flat position and there’s a huge canopy and storage bin. Newborn suitability? Yes, with an additional carrycot.

It is an entire travel system that includes a lie-flat carrycot for newborns, a multi-position forward and rear-facing pushchair seat as well as a choice of a group 0+ car seats, so you can get everything you need in one place.
The XL Air is a really impressive vehicle, and it’s easy to understand why it has received such high praise from customers. It is extremely light with the chassis and wheels weigh only 6.5kg. It is extremely easy to put together. I was able get it up and running in less than five minutes – which is remarkable considering it also includes the ability to attach fabric to the carrycot.
The seat is spacious and comfortable for Annie who is 12 months old. The recline lever was simple to operate. The basket has plenty of space, and I am impressed that the handle bar has a pocket to keep your phone and keys safe.
The only downside is the handlebar is low, which can be an issue for taller parents. However, it’s coated in a lovely leather-like material that’s soft and comfy and wipes down easily, meaning it’s still easy to push even with bags and children on your hands!

The front 3 wheel pushchair off road is lockable for greater stability on narrow streets and congested sidewalks and the stroller folds easily to fit into car boots and storage spaces.
The Runner 2 is a bit more difficult to maneuver for some parents than its predecessor. Also the locking system (requiring two buttons on either side of the handlebar) isn’t as user-friendly. The handlebar is higher than other strollers and therefore it may not work for smaller parents however, overall it’s a sturdy and versatile stroller worth a look for families with active children.

Bugaboo Fox 5
Created to be the ultimate all-terrain pushchair Bugaboo’s latest Fox 5 promises to do everything. Its unique chassis, coupled with a shorter 3 wheel double pushchair-distance makes it more maneuverable than its predecessor. I tested it alongside my two kids – an infant and an eight-week old – across rough terrain, grassy woodland walks and even cobblestones.
The puncture-proof wheels are big – 22cm and 30cm – which means they can handle lots of different terrains. They also come with an easy flap that opens or closes to let more air to circulate should you need it and is a nice feature. It’s a little larger than most pushchairs, yet does not feel heavy or bulky when you’re pushing it across bumpy surfaces.
The seat fabric is machine washable, as are the frame and faux leather grips are easy to wipe down. It’s also a lot quieter than some pushchairs, and I felt confident using it on busy city streets. Another benefit is that it has integrated accessory points. This means you can put in footmuffs, parasols, changing bags and even a snack tray. The hood can be used to block rain and wind, but it’s not waterproof. The single pram can be fitted with the Comfort Wheeled board (not included) that gives your child more legroom. The bassinet took 20 minutes to set up and a similar time to convert it into a seat.
