All-terrain stroller is light, durable and offers great maneuverability. The compact fold that can be folded with just one hand makes it simple to move. It also stands on its own when folded. The padded seat reclines to a near-flat position, and there’s an enormous storage bin and canopy. Baby suitability: Yes, with a separate carrycot (not suitable for overnight sleeping).

Good suspension and air-filled tyres will handle rough terrain well. You can also use it for jogging. But, you should wait until the baby is at minimum 6 or 9 months old.

Ickle Bubba XL Air

This lightweight 3 wheel buggy pushchair by Ickle Bubba has a lot of features that parents will love. It is a travel system, which includes a lie-flat carrycot suitable for infants, a movable forward and rear facing pushchair seat and a selection of a group 0+ car seats, so you can have everything you need in one place.

The XL Air is a really impressive vehicle, and it’s easy to understand why it has been awarded so many praises from its customers. It’s incredibly light – the wheels and chassis weigh just 6.5kg – and it’s also extremely simple to put together. In fact, I was able to complete the entire setup and running in just five minutes, which is impressive considering it included a strapping of the fabric for the carrycot!

The seat is large and comfortable for Annie, who is just 12 months old. The recline lever was easy to operate. There’s plenty of room in the basket, and I love the fact that it comes with an open-top pocket on the handle bar so you can keep your keys and phone secure!

The handlebar is low, which could be a problem for parents who are taller. It’s covered with a soft, comfy leather-like material, and is easy to clean.

The front wheel is lockable and swivels for added versatility. The stroller comes with a 5-point safety harness with an adjustable front bar that will keep your child safe during every trip. The parking brake keeps the stroller on its feet while you rest. The seat can be repositioned to lay down and the canopy can be opened to allow maximum air circulation on hot days. The handle can be adjusted by more than 30 cm to accommodate dad or mum’s heights.

The Runner will accompany you on any adventure whether it’s a short jog, a longer hike or a long-distance trek. It has a fully-flat lay-flat seat and suspension air wheels for smooth and comfortable riding. The front wheel can be locked for greater stability on narrow streets and congested sidewalks, and the stroller folds up easily to fit into car boots and storage spaces.

The Runner 2 is a bit more difficult to navigate for some parents than its predecessor. Additionally, the locking system (requiring two buttons on either side of the handlebar) isn’t as user-friendly. The handlebar is higher than the ones of competitors and therefore it may not suit shorter parents but overall, it’s an extremely sturdy and flexible stroller that’s worth a look for families with active children.

The stroller seat can be used from birth until 22kg. It converts easily into a reversible 2-in-1 position, either parent-facing or facing the world. Bugaboo Fox 5,

Bugaboo’s Fox 5 is designed to be the ultimate, all-terrain stroller. Its unique chassis, with a shorter wheel-distance, makes it much more maneuverable than its predecessor. I tested it with my two children – an eight-week-old and a toddler – on rough pavements, grassy wooded walks and even cobblestones.

The large puncture-proof wheels – either 22cm or a bit larger – can handle a variety of terrains. The wheels have a flap that can be opened or closed to let more air in when required. It is a little bigger than some pushchairs, but it does not feel heavy or bulky when you push it over bumpy surfaces.

The fabric of the seat can be machine washed, and the faux leather frames and grips are easy to clean. It’s also quieter than other pushchairs, and I felt at ease in the city streets. One of the advantages is that it comes with accessory points, meaning you can add footmuffs, parasols, changing bags, and even a snack tray. You can also use the hood to block out rain and wind, though it’s not particularly waterproof. The single pram can be fitted with the Comfort Wheeled Board (not included), which gives your child more legroom. It took about 20 minutes to set up the bassinet, and a similar amount of time to transform it into the seat.
