All-terrain stroller that is lightweight and durable. It also offers excellent maneuverability. The compact fold that can be folded with just one hand makes it easy to move. It also stands on its own when folded. The cushioned seat reclines to a near-flat position, and there’s a huge storage bin and canopy. Baby-friendly? Yes, with an additional carrycot.

Air-filled tyres and a good suspension will handle rough terrain well. It’s also suitable for jogging, although you must wait until your baby is at least six or nine months old for this.

Ickle Bubba XL Air

This pushchair from Ickle Bubba is a brilliant option for parents looking for an easy-to-use buggy that has enhanced features. This travel system includes a lie flat carrycot for babies and a dual-position rear and forward facing pushchair seat.

The XL Air is a very impressive buggy. It’s easy to comprehend why it’s received such high marks from its customers. It’s extremely light – the chassis and wheels weigh just 6.5kg and it’s easy to build. In fact I was able complete the entire setup and running in less than five minutes, which is amazing considering that it also included the tying of the fabric to the carrycot!

The seat is spacious and comfortable for Annie, who is just 12 months old. The recline lever was simple to use. There’s a good amount of room in the basket and I am awestruck by the fact that it comes with a zip-up pocket in the handle bar so you can keep your phone and keys secure!

The handlebar is low, which may be an issue for parents who are taller. It’s covered in soft, supple leather-like material that is easy to clean.

Hauck Pushchair Runner

The Runner is a great choice for parents who love to explore and are always on the go. The large pneumatic wheels can be used on field and forest trails. The front wheel is lockable and can be swiveled to increase the versatility. The stroller comes with five-point safety harnesses with an adjustable front bar that will keep your child safe on every trip. The parking brake keeps the stroller on its feet while you rest. The comfy seat is easy to lower to a lying position and the canopy opens up netting for optimum air circulation during hot days. The handle can be adjusted by more than 30cm to accommodate dad or mum’s heights.

The Runner will accompany you on all your adventures whether it’s a short jog, a longer hike or a long-distance trek. It comes with a lay-flat seat that has suspension air wheels for an easy ride. The front wheel can be locked to provide greater stability on narrow streets or overcrowded sidewalks. The stroller can also fold up to fit in car boot spaces or storage areas.

The Runner 2 is a bit more difficult to maneuver for some parents than its predecessor. Also, the locking system (requiring two buttons either side of the handlebar) isn’t as user-friendly. The handlebars are a bit higher than those of some competitors, and therefore may not be suitable for smaller parents. However the stroller is strong and adaptable and should be considered by active families.

Red Kite Push Me Pace

Red Kite’s Pace is a great product from the affordable British brand. They are renowned for their clean, well-designed products that are essential for parents. It’s the latest – and priciest – product in their bargain-priced lightweight stroller collection. It’s also like the Ickle Bubba Aurora and Yoyo, is car seat adaptable which means you can use it from birth (the carrycot folds away).

The new Pace has some amazing design features, including the rose gold hue to the chassis, hood and stroller trims that make it stand out from its rivals. The grey, tan and cream fabrics on the stroller and the car seat are fashionable and there’s the option of adding the leather handle for the cover and bumper bar as well.

The stroller seat can be used from birth to a maximum weight of 22kg. It converts easily to a two-in-one reversible position, which is either parent-facing or world-facing. The stroller seat has several lie-back positions, plus soft padded legs rests, and an extended sun canopy with concealed zip sections and a transparent flap, and a retractable visor.

When folded when folded, the Pace measures 56 x 43cm x 32cm, which is perfect for hand luggage on Easyjet and Ryanair. It’s also simple to fold, thanks to two buttons on the handlebar’s opposite side that just need to be pressed in and out. Then, it will pop up.

Bugaboo Fox 5

Bugaboo’s Fox 5 is designed to be the ultimate all-terrain stroller. Its unique chassis, with a shorter wheel-distance makes it more agile than its predecessor. I tested it with my two kids – an infant and an eight-week old – across the rocky roads as well as woodland walks that are grassy and even cobblestones.

The large puncture-proof wheels – 22cm or 30cm in size – can handle a variety of terrains. The wheels come with a flap that can be shut or opened to let air in when needed. It’s a bit larger than other pushchairs, however it doesn’t feel bulky or heavy when pushing over bumpy surfaces.

The seat fabric is machine washable, and the frame and faux leather grips are simple to wipe down. It’s also a lot quieter than some pushchairs, and I felt comfortable using it on busy city streets. Another benefit is that it has integrated accessory points. This means you can put in footmuffs, parasols, changing bags and even a tray for snacks. You can also use the hood to block out wind and rain, although it’s not waterproof. The single pram is able to be fitted with the Comfort Wheeled board (not included) that gives your child more leg room. The bassinet took about 20 minutes to set up and it took about the same amount of time to convert it into a seat.

UPPAbaby Ridge

If you’re looking forward to running in the morning cool air or a nighttime stroll under the stars, the UPPAbaby Ridge makes every moment a memorable one. This all-terrain stroller is designed to keep you and the child engaged.

The large, foam-filled 12″ and 16 “tires give you smooth rides regardless of the terrain. The suspension system that is patent-pending allows you to glide effortlessly on woodland trails while minimizing impact on your child’s rear and legs. The handbrake that is designed for performance lets you stop quickly even while running on the downhill slope.

The Ridge is at home in all city scenes from bustling farmers’ markets to the street musicians playing music. The large basket can accommodate everything you need and market purchases, while the massive canopy offers sun and wind protection. The oversized front canopy also unzips to reveal two peekaboo windows that make it easy to observe your baby’s surroundings.

The Ridge’s reversible seating allows you to decide if your child is facing you or the world that lies ahead, and its simple foot brake system is a breeze for parents with young children. The reversible handlebar is a wonderful feature that lets you adjust it to your height. And unlike some jogging strollers the Ridge folds solid and self-standing when folded.

iCandy Core

The new pushchair from iCandy is truly groundbreaking, with lots of features that are really sure to amaze parents. It has a Multi-Mode wheelbase and LED Visibility Hub light, which is an industry first. It has a built-in Ride-on board which helps save on future costs, and allows tired toddlers to accompany their parents during outings.

The Core is available as either a travel system or single seat. It is compatible with the most popular car seats, such as those from Cybex Maxi Cosi Joie. It also comes with the largest seat unit in the iCandy range, which means it will last you through your baby’s initial years and beyond. It’s a gorgeously designed pushchair that is made of premium knitted fabric. The child’s bumper bar and the parent’s adjustable handlebar are made of soft leatherette. The fold-away calf supports are also very comfortable for children.

It was quite impressive how quickly it folded and collapsed even with the seat unit attached. And it fits easily into the boot or hallway making it ideal for travel. The iCandy Core comes with lots of additional accessories, including a rucksack with a color match and a liner/footmuff.
