Line-up
The album’s third, Turn Back, marked the return to the traditional sextet format of previous albums. It was a stronger, more constant effort with an edge that was stronger than Hydra. The more edgy sound of the album reflected the maturation of the group and included drummer Bobby Kimball’s improved proficiency on the drums, as well as a more mature, confident vocal delivery from singer Joseph Williams.
