The best robotic mop and vacuum Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping’s Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He evaluates and tests cleaning equipment, focusing on robot vacuums and mopping combos. These multitaskers are an excellent option for those who wish to cross mopping off the to-do list. They have impressive mapping and obstacles-avoiding capabilities, and some even wash and refill their mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you should select if you’re looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It’s smaller than other models, making it more maneuverable in tight spaces or under furniture. It comes with a 220 degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it some of the best robot vacuum and mop navigation and avoidance capabilities I’ve seen in robot vacuums. It’s got a battery of 4600mAh which can last up to 170 mins when mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery in mid-clean.
It is very fast and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways in just one pass. Its motor of 8,000pa is able to pick up dirt, pet hair, and poop effortlessly. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it comes into contact with rugs, and the two side brushes help draw out debris from corners.
The mopping performance, while still impressive, is not as impressive. The rotating mop spins at a high speed and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scrubbing up dirt and stains. I’ve noticed that the front arm extends out a bit more than other robots. This is useful when you’re trying to get into difficult corners or along baseboards. The front arms can also be used to scoop up larger debris like broken toys and books.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I’ve tested. It doesn’t make as loud of a sound when mopping or vacuuming and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It’s easy to install and works well however, it’s something you’ll need to be aware of if you’re buying this robot vacuum solely for the purpose of it mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it a great option for homeowners looking for a highly effective, versatile, and customizable cleaning machine.
The device comes with a powerful cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This enables it to map out the house and also identify furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean intelligently and efficiently. This will result in an effective, consistent cleaning that is also quite quick.
In terms of mopping, Q Revo’s DuoRoller mop pads can be used to reach many different surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards and other difficult to reach spots. The side brush can be stretched out to reach the floor close to the walls or other fixtures. In addition the mop pads are able to be washed and dried to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce the odors.
Another notable feature is the app-based customization options. The Q Revo lets you alter the suction strength and select an back-and-forth or random pattern. You can also select the number of passes which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can also choose to turn off the side brush to prevent damaging rugs and carpets.
The device comes with a high price tag but comes with a large selection of smart features. However, it’s important to note that it incurs periodic costs in the form of mopping equipment and maintenance. For example, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pads must be replaced every one to three month.
This robot vacuum that mops is rated highly on Amazon and offers a wide array of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with an energy button that doubles as a ‘Clean button’ and a ‘Home’ button to send it home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the dustbin, refills its water tank to mop and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you’re a professional with a lot of work or someone who just wants to have a clean home without spending a lot of time on chores, the Shark Matrix Plus is a good choice. Its powerful performance, smart navigation, and long battery life allow you to maintain a clean home with little effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop. It is capable of mopping and vacuuming. The robot comes with two modules: a combined dry bin and water reservoir and a separate mopping module with a microfiber pad that snaps into and out of the way. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping might seem a bit outdated, but they do mean you don’t have to think about changing bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature was its precise floorplan map that it uses to create an outline for cleaning. This made it a breeze for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture and other obstacles. The app also offers the option to set ‘No-Go zones’ and virtual barriers, which help to shield certain areas of your home from being scrubbed with a mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a amazing job of collecting hair of pets. It was able to collect a lot of the hair sheds from our cats. It even got into the nooks and crannies on our stairs where other robots had struggled. Its noise levels were fairly low and there were pleasant jingles to signal that it was beginning and getting its work done.
The app was too simple and you had to alter the modules every time you changed between mops and vacuuming. The app can’t contain multiple maps, which could be a pain if you have a home with a mix of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a ideal choice for people who are looking for a smart device that can vacuum and mop.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive best robot cleaner vacuum that mops in our test, but it comes with some unique features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni’s main draw is its massive dock, which doubles as a charging base and housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a clean sink as well as an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically emptys.
The base comes with several control buttons that let you manually begin a cleaning task, recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to switch off the child lock. This is a wonderful feature for parents worried about their children playing with the vacuum.
Like other robotic vacuums the X1 Omni utilizes its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system will map your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more precise at finding objects.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni could sometimes get so entangled with obstacles, like a power cord draped across a rug, that it gets stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. This was a rare occurrence, but frustrating nonetheless, because the X1 doesn’t have an “stuck status” alert in its application.
The X1 Omni is unable to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You will need to manually switch between the two, which isn’t an issue apart from the fact that mopping pads haven’t been cleaned and dried between use, which can lead to mildew or mold.
On the bright side it’s worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its modern, sleek base and mopping pad. It’s a major departure from the utilitarian, black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing view in a market that is dominated by bulky boxy models.
